How to Conduct a "Best Practices" Disciplinary Process

A solid disciplinary process is the basis of a public employer’s defense against discrimination claims, grievances and unemployment claims.  Just as importantly, it should be a corrective tool to re-direct an employee with performance and / or behavior issues.

Have your disciplinary processes been effective? In this training, we de-mystify "just cause" and "due process" and show how they can be incorporated into a step-by-step process.

Some of the topics covered:

  • Preliminary considerations: The human factor

  • Just Cause groundwork

  • Due Process

  • Just Cause in action: The decision to discipline

  • Special disciplinary challenges

  • Ways and means to effective discipline

This training is available in two formats:

All-day   workshop:     Round-table,  interactive   and  in-depth   for  managers  and advisors—suitable for up to 15 participants.

Lecture:   A one to two-hour “traditional classroom” training, suitable for larger groups.

Workshop:  $400.00 per person.

Lecture:   $400.00 per session (up to 30-40 participants per session)

Forms and templates to adapt to your organization’s needs are included in the price of training.
